It’s that time of year again… time to say farewell to one staff member and welcome another. Here at the Catamount Trail Association we have four staff persons. Three of us are permanent employees, and the third is a one year long position made possibly by Americorps and the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board (VHCB).
This past year we were very lucky to have Andy Wood find our job listing and send in his application. Each year it’s a little nerve-wracking waiting for applications to come in because you just never know what you’re going to get. Fortunately, the Americorps program here in Vermont has always connected us with some outstanding candidates and Andy was no exception.
This past year has been wonderful with Andy in the office, at events and out on the trail. He is an intelligent, and thoughtful person who very quickly got himself up to speed and was able to start adding value to our organization very early on.
Anyway, since Andy was leaving we wanted to do something fun with him that he probably wouldn’t do on his own. Being a pretty adventurous person, what could be better than checking out the new zip line tours at Stowe Mountain Resort that feature cables over 1/2 mile long and speeds near 60 mph! Check out our little photo story below to see just how much fun we had.
We’re going to miss Andy around here, but maybe this winter we’ll see him at some of our events and maybe he’ll even lead a tour or two for us.
PS: We also need to give a big shout out to Mike Colbourn, Kim Leslie, and David Hatoff from Stowe Mountain Resort. This is the team we work with to put on the Race to the Top of Vermont and they are superstars. They’re very easy to work with and go out of their way to help us make that event special. They also hooked us up with the zip line tour, and we really can’t thank them enough for everything they do and all of the support they send our way.
