Welcome to the Catamount Trail Association!
The Catamount Trail Association (CTA) is the non-profit organization responsible for the Catamount Trail, a 300+ mile backcountry ski trail that runs the length of Vermont. The CTA is also the parent organization that supports and advocates on behalf of eight Backcountry Chapters located in Vermont and Massachusetts.
The CTA is your gateway to experiencing incredible backcountry in all its forms, and membership offers many benefits including free guided tours, discounted passes at local Nordic centers and resorts, and other great discounts from our generous Member Rewards Book partners.
CTA members are an integral part of our organization, and helps us accomplish many crucial things including:
- Trail maintenance on the Catamount Trail and backcountry zones.
- Conservation work to permanently protect access to the Catamount Trail and mountain lands.
- The CTA’s free learn-to-ski youth programs, which helped 2,000 underserved youth across Vermont get out skiing during the winter months.
- Tours, clinics, community ski days, and other events that help expand access to skiing and Vermont’s backcountry.
