The Ski Cubs crew headed to Bolton Valley this past weekend in search of new terrain and adventures. We played tons of games and worked on getting comfortable moving around on our skis on varied terrain. The field outside the Nordic Center and Broadway provided perfect slopes for a few rounds of Red Light, Green Light to practice stopping and controlling speed.
We saw who could do complete 360 degree spins! Look at that air!
Before we headed out on the trails, we played one of my all-time favorite on-snow games from my racing days…SOCCER ON SKIS! I am pretty sure people could hear us laughing all the way in Stowe, even if we were tangled on the ground half the time. I highly recommend playing soccer with new skiers; it is a game most people are familiar with, and helps skiers learn how to simply move around with skis on their feet, as well as become professionals at getting up from a fall.
At the end of the day, we were all feeling the love for cross-country skiing!
