This fall we’ve partnered up with Vermont based custom ski builder WhiteRoom Skis (WRS) to offer one lucky winner the opportunity to imagine, and bring to life, the ski of their dreams. The fortunate skier will get to work with Vin Faraci, WRS owner and crafter, to create a tailor-made set of planks that will be ready to shred this season.
The winner will choose the width, sidecut, camber/rocker profile, flex profile, and will even get to design the specialty wood veneer topsheet that’s responsible for WhiteRoom Skis looking just as good on the wall over the fireplace as they do destroying pow in the backcountry!
If you want to see some of the work that goes into producing a single pair of skis check out the photo story we did earlier this summer – HERE.
Raffle tickets are going for: 1 for $20… 4 for $50… 10 for $100
The winner will be chosen at the Annual Vermont Backcountry Fall Forum in Rochester, VT on November 5th at the Pierce Hall Community Center. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN.
100% of the money raised will go to support the efforts of the Vermont Backcountry Alliance (VTBC) and the Rochester Area Sports Trails Alliance (RASTA). The VTBC is currently working on a Glading Handbook. This guide is being developed with the support from the state and federal land managers and will outline best practices and techniques for developing and maintaining skiable zones on forested terrain. RASTA has a variety of projects in the works including the development of multiple new glades and even a backcountry cabin. So, rest assured that your contribution will be used to improve the backcountry skiing experience here in Vermont.
