A GIGANTIC thank you to all of the sponsors who have helped make Ski Cubs possible this season. Sponsors include Bolton Valley, Sleepy Hollow Inn, Ski and Bike Center, the Alpine Shop, Burlington City Arts, Smartwool, Rossignol, the Lintilhac Foundation, and the Byrne Foundation. We simply could not run this program without you!
Another season of Ski Cubs has concluded, and I have no idea where this winter went! Six Saturday mornings does not seems like a great amount of time, but the planning and prep work that goes into these 18 hours of skiing, plus all of the other school and community youth programs we facilitate, takes up a large part of my CTA life for the greater part of the fall and winter. Through it all I have once again ended the season feeling incredibly lucky to have been able to work with this program and the youth involved for a second year. I get to spend my winter combining my favorite passions of skiing, the outdoors, and education with working with some of Vermont’s finest young people. I may often look like a bag lady running around with all my equipment draped over my shoulders, and yes, I may find myself buried in skis and smelly boots sometimes, but when these faces come flying down a hill shrieking at the top of their lungs with excitement, all of the planning and effort is nothing compared to the fun we all have each week. Stay tuned for more reflections on this season, including our work with Robinson Elementary School in Starksboro, VT.
