Priscilla Kimberly, or Cilla is quite an extraordinary woman. If you’ve ever been to any of our instructional events there’s a good chance that Cilla was there sharing her knowledge and love of backcountry skiing.
Cilla is not only a great backcountry skier and instructor, she is also an incredibly talented artist. Earlier last month she participated in our Northern Week-Long Tour which spent 8 days skiing from the Stowe area to the Canadian border. Some people write in a journal, others take photographs… Cilla likes to sketch.
I like making sketches during or after a trip because it helps me remember so much more than a written journal of my travels.
Personally, I think these are amazing. I’ve never really been able to draw, but it’s more than than the sheer quality of the sketches. I was really quite taken by some of them and I’m having a hard time putting my finger on why I like looking at these so much.
