There is more than one way to approach exploring the Catamount Trail or one of our Chapter-Managed Backcountry Zones, and as interest in these areas has increased we have started looking for ways to help new and existing users get outside and have the best experience possible.
With this in mind, we are excited to launch a new library of self-guided backcountry tours. These tours are designed to help remove the logistical barrier to planning a tour on your own, and make it easier to get outside and enjoy the beauty of winter in Vermont. The tours include detailed route descriptions, maps, and important information about the area, so you can head out with confidence.
These self-guided tours will focus on single-day itineraries that do not require shuttling. Many will utilize the Catamount Trail and our Chapter-Managed BC Zones, but they may also include side trails, other trail systems, and other areas.
Please note that we are just starting to build out this library.
