In Their Packs & On Their Backs is a recurring feature here on the CTA blog where we take a peek inside the packs of seasoned backcountry skiers to see what they take with them when out exploring Vermont in the winter. By exposing some of the choices these winter professionals have made, we hope to inform those who still have questions about what to bring when heading off into the woods. Please keep in mind that we’re not here to tell you what to do or not do… that’s for you to decide.
Today we’re going to be taking a peek inside Tristan Von Duntz’s pack. Tristan is a man of many talents. He’s on the board of the Camel’s Hump Challenge, a spokesperson for Muscles Not Motors, a photographer, an Outdoor Ambassador at Onion River Sports, and can be found writing and talking about skis, gear, bikes, and singletrack over on the website Green Mountain Lines. Tristan is one of those guys that just loves the outdoors… whether he’s out exploring his backyard, cruising from Bolton to Trapps on the Catamount Trail, or exploring the White Mountains… he’s all about spending time outside and sharing his passion with others. If you’re lucky enough to run into this guy on the trail be sure to say “Hey” to his better half Sarah and his best friend Odin. They’re never far behind when out exploring the BC of VT they call home.
So what does Tristan take with him into the backcountry?
