It’s that time of year where we shelve our skis and get started on summer activities. Some folks bike, some paddle, and others spend their time preparing to run ultra marathons. Yep, ultra-marathons. You may be wondering just what exactly an ultra marathon is, and you’re not alone. The term “ultra” encompasses a variety of race lengths–25K, 50K, 100K, 100M, 200M, to name just a few varieties out there. All of these races are quite obviously long, and they are growing in popularity.
There are a handful of ultras coming up this season in Vermont, but the one we’re most excited about is the Catamount Ultra Marathon, gearing up for its second year. This year we will be teaming up with race staff to support this event happening on Saturday, June 27th at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT. The CTA is recruiting volunteers to help out with this fun and exciting event. No need for any special skills–all you need is a smile and a little time.
