Help support on-trail activities and much more
The CTA Trail Fund is one of our two major fundraising efforts and contributions directly support on-trail activities including bridge construction, trail segment relocation, easement acquisition, and all of the other things associated with maintaining, improving, and protecting the trail corridor.
In addition to maintenance and improvements along the Catamount Trail, we are also working with the Rochester Area Sports Trails Alliance (RASTA), the Vermont Backcountry Alliance (VTBC), and the Green Mountain National Forest (GMNF) to create and manage one of the first gladed skiing and riding zones on public lands here in Vermont. As part of this work, we are developing new practices for developing and administering down-mountain backcountry trails, and in the future these new policies and procedures should allow for the creation of additional backcountry zones throughout Vermont.
Here at the CTA our priority continues to be the Catamount Trail, however we are expanding our mission to address the needs of all types of backcountry skiers. Making a donation to the CTA Trail Fund will ensure that we can do it all, and will help us build and improve the recreational economy here in Vermont.
Please give generously. There are over 300 miles of trail between the Massachusetts and Canadian borders and maintenance is not easy, and it’s not free.
