Come join SplitboardVT and the Catamount Trail Association at the Middlebury Snow Bowl for some exploring on splitboards!. There will be free demos available if you don’t have your own equipment or happen to be interested in trying something new. During the day there will be clinics, games, tours, food and good times!

Demos – 9am to 3pm
During the day a variety of boards and bindings will be available to try out from brands such as Burton, Cabin Mountain Tools, Spark R&D, Weston, Jones Snowboards, and Karakoram to name a few.
In order to demo equipment participants must have a CTA wristband that will be picked up during check-in/registration at the festival basecamp. Two different demo routes will be available providing access to all levels of downhill terrain.
All Demo Equipment Must stay On These Two Dedicated Routes. Equipment availability is always an issue at this event. The demo loops are designed to provide access to all levels of terrain on which to test a setup, but minimize the time equipment is out. This is to maximize the number opportunities for all participants.
Activities
Throughout the day there will be regular Uphill 101 courses, demos, various impromptu backcountry tours & clinics, a super fun uphill/downhill race, and a sweet raffle!
Middlebury Snow Bowl Tours/Uphill 101 Tours – All Day
On these tours SplitboardVT guides will lead small groups out on several of the marked demo routes. The routes are designed to give you an opportunity to get acclimated to your splitboard’s on both the up and opportunity to enjoy the terrain at the Middlebury Snow Bowl on the down. Guides will share tips and tricks along the way to make sure you get the most out of your next uphill adventure.
The tours will depart from the demo area throughout the day with no set time so no need to rush! Plan to be out there for around 30-45min. All are welcome, and there is no cap on participation.
Uphill/Downhill SplitMO Race Course – 3:00pm
Burton Snowboards will be organizing a fun and challenging race. Anyone and everyone is invited to come out. The final course won’t be revealed until the day of the event, but there will be uphill and downhill legs. We promise it will be ridiculous, heinous, challenging, and incredibly fun! The event will begin with a mass start, and hopefully everyone will participate! There will also be a special prize for the winners!
Raffle – 3:30pm
At the end of the day we will raffle off a selection of prizes donated by our sponsors including a splitboard! The money raised by the raffle will go to support the activities of the Catamount Trail Association. Raffle tickets will be on sale at the event.
Registration
Registration for this event is FREE. However, in order to access the terrain at the Middlebury Snow Bowl all participants must purchase a Snow Bowl Uphill Pass if you do not already have a pass from Snow Bowl.
Uphill Passes can be purchased online in advance or in-person. A Snow Bowl Uphill Pass is $10/day or $40/season.

We also recommend that everyone Pre-Register before the event so we can more easily communicate any last minute changes and/or updates to the schedule. However, pre-registration is not required. Participants will also be able to register in-person during the event at the Festival HQ.
