- Climbing Skins (no snowshoes, no crampons)
- Appropriate Clothing

- Helmet
Rental Equipment: Want to play with us, but don’t have the right equipment? You can rent AT equipment on-site at Bolton, or check out the Outdoor Gear Exchange in Burlington, Mountain Ops in Stowe, or Clearwater Sports in Waitsfield.
Awards & Raffle
After every race we will gather in the base lodge to congratulate our fastest men and women of the night (separate divisions for skimo, heavy metal, and splitboard), and to give away a bunch of gear donated by our sponsors. To be included all you have to do is come out and ski with us. We will hand out raffle tickets at the end so you don’t have to keep track of them.
Timing & Results
These are casual events, but they are timed and results will be posted below after each event. We apologize in advance for any butchering of names. Our system is far from sophisticated and writing down info in the cold with gloves or mittens on can be challenging.
Courses
Each course is unlit and finishes where it starts. Routes are 1.5-3.5km long with 700-1000ft of climbing and descending. Racing will begin at 6pm sharp and participants will ski as many laps as they want to, or can, in ~1 hour. After 6:50pm the uphill course will close, and beginning a new lap will no longer be allowed. Below are a few course examples. However, we do reserve the right to mix it up occasionally with new routes. All uphill courses will be marked with green LED wands, downhills will be marked with red LED wands, and the transition areas are marked with white LED wands. Participants should transition after the white LED wands and before the first green or red LED wands.
Cancellation Policy
We really try not to cancel any of these events. However, sometimes conditions and weather force our hand. Safety and fun are our primary considerations. If there is not enough snow or conditions are too icy to be safe we will cancel. If the temp is forecast to be -4ºF (-20ºC) or lower (with our without windchill) we will cancel. Otherwise the show will typically go on even if it’s snowing, windy, foggy, or sleeting.
