CTA is once again offering community ski days where community members can try out cross-country skiing and snowshoeing free of charge.
While we are surrounded by opportunities to recreate outside here in Vermont, these opportunities are not always easy to access. There are many barriers — equipment, technical skill, travel, etc. Our hope is that these community ski days might allow more people to enjoy getting outside this winter. We hope to announce some new locations for this season!
Community Ski Days Schedule:
Intervale Center Community Ski Day – CANCELLED DUE TO CONDITIONS
hosted by the CTA & Craftsbury Outdoor Center
January 26, 2025, 10:00am – 1:00pm

This event is free, and no appointment is required. Participants can drop by any time during the event period to try out cross-country ski equipment. Basic instruction will be provided by CTA volunteers and staff. A limited number of snowshoes will also be available for those looking for an outdoor adventure other than skiing.

Pride Ski at Catamount Outdoor Family Center RESCHEDULING – NEW DATE TBDSunday, February 16, 2025, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Catamount Outdoor Family Center
592 Governor Chittenden Rd, Williston, VT (MAP)
Join Vermont Land Trust, Audubon Vermont, Catamount Trails Association, and Pride Center of Vermont for a fun and inclusive day of cross-country skiing at the Catamount Outdoor Family Center! We’ll traverse this VLT-conserved property where we have been doing innovative work on managing Emerald Ash Borer.
The terrain is varied with both flat and hilly trails and includes both wooded and open sections that offer beautiful views and scenic vistas. We will stick together as a group on beginner trails, but participants are welcome to challenge by choice if they want more advanced routes. This event was designed with the LGBTQIA+ community and allies in mind.
Event details and registration can be found on the Audobon Website.
Registration is required.
