In this continuing series, we are highlighting some of the recent changes to the CTA Board of Directors. At the recent Annual Meeting in Killington, Vermont, we celebrated the contributions of several retiring board members. While we are sad to see these wonderful people go, we are thrilled by the new additions to our board. Ned Houston has been active in the Vermont Backcountry Alliance and we are excited to have his experience and enthusiasm on the board.
Ned is a long time outdoor enthusiast whose main passions include skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and travel. He participates in all types of skiing and enjoys seeking adventures in the backcountry whenever he can. He teaches alpine skiing professionally on weekends and his ski teaching experience includes tree skiing and resort side country adventures. Ned has volunteered with numerous planning and trails initiatives in and around his community of Waterbury, Vermont over the years and continues to do so.
Professionally, Ned runs an environmental consulting business providing Land Planning, Design, Permitting, and Project Management services. He also worked for over five years at the Green Mountain Club in Waterbury as an Information Specialist educating hikers as to route planning, selection, and safety practices. Ned lives in Waterbury Center with his wife of 30+ years, has two adventurous children, a dog and a bunch of cats.
Welcome, Ned!
