In this continuing series, we are highlighting some of the recent changes to the CTA Board of Directors. A few weeks ago in Killington, VT, at the Annual Meeting, we celebrated several retiring, longtime board members. These incredible and active community members do so much, and we are sure that their energy will be well spent on other projects. Ed Miller, you will be missed!
Ed Miller is a Stowe resident that has served on the CTA Board since 2012. A member of Stowe Mountain Rescue and also vice chair of the Stowe Nordic Outing club, Ed has been a tremendous liaison and advocate for the Catamount Trail in the Stowe area. As the Trail Chief for Section 23 of the Catamount Trail, Ed oversees the trail through the heart of Stowe from Trapp Family Lodge to Edson Hill Manor.
A forward thinker, Ed engaged his fellow board members in conversations about climate change and the future of the Catamount Trail in a warming climate. Ed has also served on CTA’s Trail Committee and its Backcountry Committee. In addition, he has sought out trail relocations and improvements to enhance the long-term sustainability of the trail. Keep an eye out for Ed if you are exploring the Mansfield backcountry, as he is likely out there as well.
Thanks, Ed!
