Just wanted to share a quick update before the storm hits…
Alex Showerman and myself headed up to Bolton Valley Resort this morning and skinned a lap under the Wilderness Chair. Coverage is still kind of thin, but it’s good enough that you don’t have to worry too much about dinging your base or edges except in a few places. Also, the base is getting deep enough that the whips are starting to be less of a threat.
This morning the skiing and riding was really fun, though few people would call the conditions good. If this storm drops the amount of snow they are forecasting, tomorrow morning and the days following should be well worth waking up early for. Even 3-5 inches on top of what’s there would make for some great skiing.
We can’t comment on the conditions in the woods as we didn’t even consider venturing off trail. There’s not that much snow yet… but it is slowly getting better.
Stay tuned. It’s starting to feel like the season is here!
Think snow!
