Braintree, VT
In 2013 Paul Kendall and his wife Sharon Rives, donated 1,547-acres to the New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF). The parcel is known today as the Braintree Mountain Forest (BMF). Located off of Riford Brook Rd in Braintree, VT the parcel includes a significant portion of the Braintree Range with four peaks rising up to 3,030 feet. The peaks are known (south to north) as Round Top, Twin Peaks, Skidoo, and Braintree Mountain (aka 30-30). The Ridgeline Outdoor Collective has been working in collaboration with NEFF to develop gladed backountry ski and ride zones along the eastern flanks of these peaks.
NOTICE – New Quiet Zones & Speed Limit
Quiet zones have recently been introduced at the trailhead/parking lot and along the lower part of the Haul Road Skin Track. Please pay attention to these areas, and help us maintain good relationships with the adjacent landowners we share this area with. Additionally, please keep in mind that the speed limit in this area is 30mph… This is not a wilderness area. This is a neighboorhood. Not only is there local traffic, but there is also other skier traffic. Be safe!
Parking
The trailhead and kiosk is located at the intersection of RIford Brook Rd and Laroque Rd in Braintree, VT. Winter use is for backcountry skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. No motorized vehicles or bikes are permitted at BMF.
