Finishing up its 6th season, The CTA Ski Cubs program has continued to evolve and adapt to the specific challenges presented, and 2017 was no exception. This years programs were poised to take advantage of a roller-coaster season of snow-cover and conditions. With a bit of patience, perseverance, and flexibility we logged a record-breaking number of youth hours across all three program offerings, and reached more than 200 youth participants.
The Bolton Valley Weekend numbers were on par with previous years, and benefited from a fun and enthusiastic group of students and volunteer instructors. The incubator program, which supplies equipment and curriculum, allowed another successful season of skiing at State Street School in Windsor. Finally, with the expansion of our in-school programs to include Shelburne Community School along with Brewster Pierce Elementary, allowed us to get over 150 students on skis as a part of their physical education time, totaling a remarkable 1,600 participation hours.
All added up Ski Cubs students spent 2,340 hours skiing in 2017, and it would not have been possible without the continued support of our fantastic volunteers and community partners. A special thanks goes out to these great folks and organizations.
