Mid Week Trail Work in Stowe, July 13-August 3
Looking to volunteer but don’t have a full day to do it? Want to combine an hour or two of trail work with a mountain bike ride or hike? Prefer to work before the heat of midday? Come help us with our “Mid Week Shuffle!” Wednesdays at 8am beginning July 13 and continuing each week for 4 weeks until August 3rd. We are hauling bridge materials from the trail head to 8 different bridge sites along a 1.5 mile section of the”8 Bridges Trail” in Stowe. This segment of the Catamount Trail is shared by skiers, mountain bikers, and walkers. CTA, SNOC, and SMBC are combining forces to complete the repairs. Bridges will be constructed beginning in late August. Having all the materials on site beforehand will expedite our construction process. Meet at8:00am at the lower Sterling Gorge parking lot, weather permitting. Whoever shows up each day can help carry the boards in, for as many trips as they like and then go for a hike or ride, or head on to their next adventure for the day. Please contact Bob Lindemann in advance if you plan to participate.
