Due to a severe lack of snow and an uninspiring forecast between now and the first half of January, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s women’s expo. Please check out some of the other events we have coming up. Eventually we will get some snow and we offer a lot of other opportunities to get out and develop your skills.
Ladies Nordic Ski Expo – Saturday, January 9th
Ladies, are you looking for a supportive environment to try out nordic skiing? Or maybe you’re looking for advice to help you master traditional classic or skate technique? If so, please mark your calendars and join us for the 8th annual Ladies Nordic Ski Expo on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. This is an amazingly fun and social event taught by women for women.
The Ladies Nordic Ski Expo is unique in that it offers an opportunity to receive instruction in the traditional skinny-ski track disciplines of both classic and skate skiing as well as backcountry and telemark techniques. Participants are able to pick and choose the type or types of instruction they want to receive during this day long event. Instructors for the event are the best of the best and include some of the world’s top master skiers. We promise you will receive lots of attention as we strive to keep the student to instructor ratio low in order to maximize learning opportunities.
The Trapp Family Lodge, with its great access to backcountry and telemark terrain, and exceptional facilities and views is the perfect classroom. Also, they have snow-making so we can pretty much guarantee that the conditions will be perfect!

Guest Speaker – Jan Reynolds: High Altitude Woman
After lunch join us for a presentation by Stowe local, Jan Reynolds. Jan is a writer and photographer that just can’t get far enough away from it all! Her favorite things are escaping to an extreme environment and hanging with the locals to learn about their culture, and their point of view. Also, if she gets a chance to ski and climb while she’s at it, that’s when her smile really starts to shine!
During the weekend the Trapp Family Lodge is offering a special race of $225+Tax for a double occupancy room. The room includes access to the fitness center (pool, hot tub, gym, sauna) and tea & cookies each day. To take advantage of this special rate just contact the Trapp Family Lodge (1-802-253-8511) and mention the Catamount Trail Association or Ladies Nordic Ski Expo.
