Over the past few weeks, our various Ski Cubs youth programs have been skiing up a storm. Here’s the latest news from CTA’s youth programs.
Ski Cubs South
We are excited to report that another school program is up and running at Molly Stark Elementary School. Ski Cubs instructor Dorothy Wallace-Senft has been making the most of this snowy winter by getting about 40 kids out skiing in recent weeks. A big shout out to volunteers Jim Goodine, Alan Binnick, and Lorna Cheriton for helping out with this program.
Dorothy has also been hard at work keeping about 20 kids from the Village School of North Bennington out on skis throughout the winter. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that future years will be just as snowy in southern Vermont for these new skiers!
Weekend Ski Cubs
Our weekend Ski Cubs wrapped up their final week at Bolton Valley Nordic Center. All in all, we had nearly 20 regular participants make the trek out to the snowy hills of Bolton. Trail conditions were great every week, thanks to our friends at Bolton Valley. A big shout out to our volunteer instructors who contributed nearly 200 hours of weekend time to instruct Ski Cubs. We couldn’t have done it with out you!
Robinson School Ski Cubs
After a several week hiatus, we know the Robinson Elementary School Ski Cubs are eager to get back on trail at Sleepy Hollow Inn, Ski, & Bike Center. This program has been good fun, and we’re sure to see more progress from this eager group of 30 fifth and sixth graders as we wrap up our season on March 5th.
This winter, Ski Cubs is reaching over 100 kids!
All of this is made possible by the generous support of funders, local businesses, and volunteers. Thank you Rossignol, SkiRack, Blueberry Hill Inn, Bolton Valley, and Sleepy Hollow!
