Alan Binnick, Trail Chief, Section 4, Somerset Dam to Kelley Stand Road & Newly Elected to the CTA Board of Directors
Alan Binnick lives in Wilmington, VT and has enjoyed cross-country skiing as well as hiking for many years. For the past few years Alan has been active in the CTA as a trail chief for section 4 as well as helping maintain other sections in southern VT. He was recently elected to the CTA Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting and looks forward helping support the CTA in his new role. Alan is a recently retired physician and is pleased to be able to devote more time to maintaining and skiing the Trail. He and his wife Frieda are also avid gardeners.
Bill Herrington, Trail Chief, Section 14, Mountain Top to Route 73/ Brandon Gap
Bill Herrington of Pittsfield, VT loves to do anything outdoors, hiking, biking, skiing, canoeing and kayaking. His retirement has given him the time to pursue these interests with vigor. He is very fortunate to have the support of a wife who is more then willing to let him “play” as long as she does not have to be his playmate. Bill has been skiing the Catamount since his first week-long tour in 2006. He completed his end-to-end pursuit in 2013.
John Ferraro, Trail Chief, Section 31, Jay Country Store to Quebec Border
John resides in Bakersfield, VT with his wife and four daughters. He enjoys skiing, mountain biking and most other outdoor activities. His affiliation with the CTA began a few years ago after a meeting with Jim Fredericks who indicated the CTA was looking for a Trail Chief on the northernmost part of section 31. Since that time, he has made some great friendships through the CTA, as well as some marked improvements to the trail.
