In Their Packs & On Their Backs is a recurring feature here on the CTA blog where we take a peek inside the packs of seasoned backcountry skiers to see what they take with them when out exploring Vermont in the winter. By exposing some of the choices these winter professionals have made, we hope to inform those who still have questions about what to bring when heading off into the woods. Please keep in mind that we’re not here to tell you what to do or not do… that’s for you to decide.
Today we get to take a peek inside Emily Licht’s pack! Emily is an Americorps Member and the Outreach and Youth Program Coordinator here at the Catamount Trail Association. You’re just as likely to find her teaching nordic skiing as you are to find her touring on the Catamount Trail, or ripping turns on her telemark or alpine skis in the backcountry and at the resorts. When it comes to skiing Emily really is a Jill Of All Trades and we’re lucky to have her working here at the CTA!
Here’s what Emily brings with her on a typical day in the backcountry!
