In this continuing series, we are highlighting some of the recent changes to the CTA Board of Directors. At the Annual Meeting in Killington, VT, we said good bye to several long time board members. While we are sad to see them go, we know that their energy and enthusiasm will be well spent in other arenas of life. Lynn Fisher, you will be missed for sure!
A Catamount Trail member for over 15 years, Lynn is retiring from the CTA Board of Directors after serving 3 terms, beginning in 2006. Lynn is an avid rower and backcountry skier who teaches computer science, calculus, and statistics at Woodstock Union High School in Woodstock, Vermont. While it is difficult to enumerate all that Lynn has given the CTA in the last 9 years, a few areas stand out. First, we must note her steadfast support and beta testing of CTA’s evolving media channels, including the CT-app, online forums, social media, and various plug-ins and widgets. Second, Lynn is a recruiter of volunteers. Each August for as long as the event has been in existence, Lynn has recruited a dozen friends to manage the Race To the Top of Vermont finish line on the summit of Mount Mansfield.
Lynn has instructed at CTA ski events, participated in the Trapp to Bolton Challenge, and skied the Catamount Trail from end to end. She’s also shared her bright mind and love of numbers with the CTA Finance Committee. Lynn continues to be a Trail Chief for Section 11 of the Catamount Trail from Old Plymouth Road to the north side of Burnt Mountain, a spot where we know we can find her practicing her tele-turns when the snow falls.
