Moira Durnin Anderson
An avid nordic skier and runner, Moira has been a CTA member for nearly 20 years, much of that time living right on the trail near Sterling Gorge. She has served on the CTA Board of Directors since 2009 and is currently serving her third term. A bookkeeper by trade, Moira has spent countless hours behind the scenes at CTA, dutifully monitoring the organization’s financial policies and procedures. She also lends a hand on the front lines whenever called upon, most notably at CTA events, where she provides friendly and reliable participant support. In recognition of her tireless volunteer efforts, we were delighted to present Moira with this honor at the 2013 Annual Meeting.
Paul Demers
After purchasing his first guidebook in 1999, Paul Demers joined the CTA as a member in 2000 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2006. A resident of South Burlington, Paul is an End to Ender and a Trail Chief of nearly 10 years for the north half of Section 19 from Huntington Gap to Camels Hump Road. A manufacturing consultant who has a knack for streamlining processes, Paul is a master at maximizing the efficiency of our event preparations. (ie-stuffing 800 race packets each August!) Paul also volunteers as an instructor for our Ski Cubs program, teaching youngsters how to kick and glide on Saturday mornings at Bolton. This past summer, Paul led a volunteer work weekend with co-trail chief Bill Hegman, and leads a group of UVM outing club students on an annual fall work day. For his myriad of talents and generous gifts of time, Paul was recognized at the Annual Meeting as CTA’s Volunteer of the Year.
Paul and Moira’s names have been added to CTA’s Volunteer of the Year plaque, and they both received a new CTA embroidered fleece to keep them warm during future trail adventures.
