CTA reimburses Trail Chiefs for up to $150 for Wilderness First Aid and Chainsaw Training courses.  You must submit a receipt for the course and a copy of your recently acquired certification to the CTA office to receive reimbursement.

Most people take WFA through SOLO, a school based in Conway, NH.  SOLO offers classes throughout New England and beyond.  SOLO WFA schedule

If you look after the CT on USFS lands, you can take one of their chainsaw trainings, typically 2 days, held in spring and fall each year. If you do not work on USFS lands and would like additional training, several trail chiefs have taking classes based on the Game of Logging Curriculum. Northeast Woodland Training seems to be the most consistent host of these courses.

UVM Trek
We very consistently have a crew of 10 students for 4 days in late August each year. We work to find projects for them to participate in and a local campground where they can stay. If you have ideas and would like to see this labor force on your section, let us know!
