Section 7: South Road to Danby-Mt. Tabor Road

Please do not park at the McCartney House Inn to access the Catamount Trail.  Please use the parking/access areas indicated in the section description below. 

 

Catamount_Trail_Section_7_MapSnapshot:
This section offers a mix of back-country trails, the ungroomed trails of the Mountain Valley Trail Association, and Class IV roads, ending in open fields near the Landgrove Inn.

Length:
8.9 miles

Difficulty:
This section is easy to intermediate, starting with a climb from South Rd. to Rock Bottom Ln.  The rest of the route is fairly level and there are several road crossings providing alternative start and stop points.

With 300 miles of trail to keep track of it can be hard to know exactly what to expect on a specific section of trail, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try.
