Pico Telemark Clinic
Location: Pico Mountain Ski Area – Mendon, VT (map)
Date: January 8, 2017
This course is for skiers looking to tackle more challenging terrain, or those who want to spice up their tours by being able to take better advantage of skiable downhill zones. This course will take place on easy or intermediate, lift-accessed, downhill terrain at a resort (lift access included) and will emphasize skill demonstration, practice, and technique evaluation. This clinic is for all ability levels, from beginners to advanced skiers, looking to develop and refine their telemark skills.
The Pico event will run from 12:00 to 4:00 and will offer two groups. One is for those wanting to explore and improve their telemark skills (telemark equipment required). The other is for backcountry skiers seeking more security and skill when tackling challenging downhill terrain. This group will stay on the beginner slope at Pico and can ski on whatever backcountry touring equipment they normally use (ski leashes still required by law – a length of cord tied to the boot/ankle is acceptable).
Leashes Are Required For All Participants.
Rental Equipment – Options for securing rental equipment include: Base Camp Outfitters (Killington), and the rental centers at the mountain.
