Annual Bolton Tours & Après Ski

Join us for an afternoon of adventure and celebration on Bolton’s conserved land. Explore the trails with the organizations that worked to conserve this property. The Vermont Land Trust, Catamount Trail Association, Friends of Bolton Valley Nordic & Backcountry, and Green Mountain Club will lead you on snowshoe and ski tours across this unique place.

DATE: Sunday, March 6
TIME: 2 pm – 6 pm (après ski begins at 4 pm)
PLACE: Bolton Valley Nordic Center
COST: $15 for adults, FREE for children 12 and under. Activities planned for the whole family

Please Note:
All participants will need to purchase a $5 Bolton trail pass at the Nordic Center the day of the event unless they hold a season pass. You will have an opportunity to become a member of any of the sponsoring organizations at the event.


Ski & Snowshoe Tours

Ski and snowshoe tours will start promptly at 2:15 pm and return to the Nordic Center around 4 pm. Please plan to arrive by 1:30 pm to register, purchase your trail pass from the Nordic Center, and get your gear in order.

Tour 1: Kids explore the outdoors: Outdoor romp on snowshoes for youngsters and family members of all levels that wish to explore. (Indoor options dependent upon weather.) Children under 12 please bring a parent or older sibling. Exact route to be determined based on skills and participant input.

Tour 2: Who’s in the woods?: Learn to uncover signs of who lives in Bolton’s woods on a guided tour. Learn about tracking, homes, food and discover habitats. All levels.

Tour 3: Advanced backcountry skiers go high: Participants should be advanced skiers comfortable with making off trail tele turns. Advanced.

Tour 4: Intermediates go into the hills: Backcountry tour to a selection of easier Bolton glades and some lesser-used trails. Intermediate.

Tour 5: Float through the woods on snowshoes: Join a tour combing flats, straight up hills, slight inclines and knee bending downhills. Course will include ungroomed trails. Exact route to be determined based on skills and participant input.

Tour 6: Classic ski romp: Tour Bolton’s groomed trails on skinny skis. Skiers should be confident skiing all Bolton groomed trails at a good pace. Intermediate to advanced.

Tour 7: Choose your own adventure: Venture out on Bolton’s trails for your own skiing or snowshoe adventure for the afternoon. No tour leader provided, just enjoy the trails on your own and meet us back at the Nordic Center for food and celebrations at 4 pm.

Tour 8: Cozy inside: Relax at the Nordic Center, put your feet up, and wait for the party to begin!


Apres Ski

Join us back at the Nordic Center for tasty food prepared with local ingredients by the talented chefs at Bon Temps Gourmet.
