Well, it’s that time of the year again. Our axis has tilted back towards the day-star, the temps are on the rise, the snow is gone, and it’s time to break out the bikes and the running shoes. This is also the time of year when we here at the Catamount Trail Association start planning our largest fundraiser of the year – The North Face Race To The Top Of Vermont made possible by KLMOUNTAINSHOP.COM.
This event is very important to us and raises money that allows our organization to operate year-round. Currently, registration is open and if you signup before the end of May you could win a Race Weekend Survival Package that includes shoes from Hoka One One, performance sunglasses from Julbo USA, a night of lodging at the Commodores Inn in Stowe, $50 to the Phoenix Table & Bar, and a selection of PackIts from the Vermont Peanut Butter Company! Everything you need to have a great weekend in Stowe at the end of August.
In case you’re not familiar with the North Face Race To The Top Of Vermont… It’s a 4.3 mile run, bike or hike up the Toll Road on Mt Mansfield. It attracts over 800 participants from all over the country and is considered one of the premiere mountain running and biking events in New England. For some it’s all about trying to achieve a fast time up this tough 4.3 mile course. For others… they come to challenge themselves, and to enjoy the spectacular views. Regardless, it’s one heck of a good time and we hope you’ll join us.
In addition to the main event on the Toll Road, there is also a youth fun run and many different volunteer opportunities. If you’d like to learn more about either of these please visit the Official Race To The Top Website at www.rtttovt.com.
