So 2014 is up and running. I suppose that means it’s time to look back on 2013 and reflect on all that’s happened. 2013 was very good here at the Catamount Trail Association. Our events were better attended, and were executed more smoothly. More skiers than ever got out and skied the Catamount Trail. We launched a new website and more people than ever now know there is a 300 mile long backcountry ski trail here in Vermont!
Anyway, we won’t bore you with the details of every awesome thing that happened in 2013. Instead, we’ll just share some of our favorite moments. These are some of the accomplishments we’re proud of and others are just things we’re happy or thankful for… Enjoy!
#1 – Fundraising goals were met and the Bolton Backcountry was saved!
#3 – The North Face Race To The Top Of Vermont recorded the most participants than ever! Also, Olympic hopeful Liz Stephen took time out of her busy schedule to set a new women’s running course record.
#4 – A successful Catamount Ski Cubs season at Bolton Valley Resort!
#6 – Vermont Youth Conservation Corps put in 6 weeks of work on the Catamount Trail!
#7 – Staff Ski Days! Occasionally, the staff here at the Catamount Trail office sneak out to participate with our members on one of the many backcountry tours that we organize during the winter. This is a great time for us to learn more about you and more about the trail.
#8 – Kevin Ruelle of Vermont Poster created a vintage poster that captures the beauty and the feeling out being out on the Catamount Trail in the winter.
Happy New Year!
